1. Are there any Petro Chemicals in Proactiv® Solution?

No.

2. What is Urea and is it made from animal urine?

Urea is an end product of protein. Since proteins are sometimes found in urine, Urea can be found in urine. However, Urea is not derived from urine. It is scientifically composed from carbon dioxide and is commonly used as a moisturiser. For example, Diazolidinyl Urea and Imadazolidinyl Urea are preservatives, which are also scientifically composed.

3. Does Proactiv® Solution contain Alpha Hydroxy Acids (ahas)?

Yes, Proactiv® Solution’s Revitalising Toner contains Glycolic acid. Glycolic acid is the smallest of the AHA molecules and thus is the most penetrating.

4. What are the long-term effects of Glycolic acid?

This data is not available, however, for proper evaluation, we recommend that you consult with your healthcare professional.

5. Is Glycolic Acid natural or synthetic? Is it harmful and carcinogenic?

Glycolic Acid is a natural fruit acid. There is no known data to support carcinogenicity. Proactiv® Solution formulas utilise the most sophisticated ingredients and processing methods in the beauty industry.

6. What is Propylene Glycol? Is it harmful and carcinogenic?

Propylene Glycol is a non-toxic, non-comedogenic (water based) ingredient. It functions as a humectant / skin-conditioning agent and is derived from yeast. There is no data to support carcinogenicity, despite a considerable amount of misinformation floating around the Internet.

7. What is SODIUM LAURYL SULFATE? Is it harmful and carcinogenic?

Sodium Lauryl Sulfate is used in some of the mildest facial cleansers on the market today. It’s even used in one of the mildest cleansers recommended by Dermatologists and widely used in hospitals worldwide. There is no data to support carcinogenicity, despite a considerable amount of misinformation floating around the Internet.

8. What is Methylparaben? What is Propylparaben? Are they wax based?

Both ingredients are widely used in the cosmetic industry as preservatives to prevent bacteria from growing. Neither ingredient is wax based.

9. Are Propylene Glycol, Ceteareth-20 and Glyceryl Stearate associated with steroids?

These ingredients are all emulsifiers that help to absorb moisture into the skin. They are widely used in the cosmetic industry and there is no data to support a connection to steroids.

10. What is Diazolidinyl Urea?

14. Do any Proactiv Solution products contain HUMAN FETAL TISSUE or substances derived from Human Fetal Tissue?

No.

15. Are there Plant-Derived Products in the Revitalising Toner and if so are they farmed organically?

Yes. Rosewater, Allantoin, Aloe Vera, Chamomile. To our knowledge these plants are not grown organically.

16. What is Magnesium Aluminum Silicate?

Magnesium Aluminum Silicate is known as a "suspending agent" which is important for the overall stability of the Proactiv® Solution Refining Mask. It also acts as an oil absorber.
