Hi Guys, I never really had a problem with acne growing up, but towards the last year of high school, I started breaking out really bad. Now its worst then ever. I don't really get it on my checks or chin its mostly on my forehead, and I have a really bad pimple that always appears on my T section right in-between my eyebrows. I'm so sick of never looking at people face to face because of this. I always see Pro-activ on ads and seeing everyone's transformation, I wish I was confident in my self just like them. But i'm afraid if I use pro-activ my skin will have a reaction and it'll only just make it worst? What do you think is best ? GUTHY - RENKER RESPONSE: Hi Jayjay, everyone’s skin is different. You haven’t really told us why you think you might react to benzoyl peroxide. Benzoyl Peroxide is a very effective blemish fighting ingredient. But a few people are sensitive to it. That’s why we recommend everyone do a patch test on their skin before starting to use it. If you are worried that you might be sensitive to Benzoyl Peroxide you could try a milder cleanser like our Deep Cleansing Wash which still has Salicylic Acid in it but no Benzoyl Peroxide. You can find it online here: http://www.proactiv.com.au/products/Full-Proactiv-Range/Body-Care-Products. If you want a skin analysis to determine what is best for you, we suggest you visit one of our Proactiv Stores. Thanks for getting in touch – all the best Jayjay.

Hi, I started using proactive when I hit year 9 in High School. I have always has terrible skin, but when year 9 started, that's when my skin became so much worse. I had used it for 6 years up until last year (2013), and loved it for the whole time, but it suddenly made my skin red, irritated and it peeled in the heat. I couldn't even wear foundation anymore. I than stopped my membership to give my skin a break, but it's been 6 months and my skin is back to how it was in year 9. I am so embarrassed about my skin and working in the Media industry doesn't boost my self esteem because I meet with people everyday. I was wondering if I was being too harsh on my skin, or if there is a product that will sooth my skin (moisturiser or lotion) after each cleanse so I don't have the nasty red irritation and peeling again? I would love to start using Proactive again as nothing else is working (even the expensive products). Thank you :) GUTHY - RENKER RESPONSE: Hi Nicole, your skin may be a bit sensitive at the moment and prone to irritation, so you may need to ease in to using both Proactiv Cleanse and Repair. We would recommend you start slowly by using the step 1 Cleanse and Step 2 Tone, followed by our Green Tea Moisturiser. Then, once your skin starts feeling ok with that regime, introduce Step 3 Repair once a day, building up to using Repair twice a day. If dryness occurs reduce back to once a day. If your redness and irritation increase, even when you are only using Step 1 and Step 2, then we recommend you stop using the product and contact us, so we can discuss our Gentle Solutions options that contain salicylic acid. It is important to use a moisturiser with our Proactiv 3 Step System. The Green Tea Moisturiser contains powerful antioxidants and is developed specifically for problem skin so will leave your skin feeling hydrated and silky smooth. It is specifically designed for blemish prone skin so it won’t clog pores or leave skin feeling oily. You can find the Green Tea Moisturiser here: http://www.proactiv.com.au/products/full-product-range/moisturise/green-tea-moisturiser-30ml and a list of all our moisturisers here: http://www.proactiv.com.au/products/full-product-range/moisturise . Thanks for getting in touch – all the best Nicole.

But I'm unsure whether it will work on my skin or not, I'm over feel ugly & having very low self esteem because all the break outs, black heads, you name it! I have very oily skin too which don't help... I wanna know is this product actually gonna boost my self esteem & see myself being beautiful? We recommend you try our Proactiv Teens System which includes our core 3 step system which is used to help fight existing and prevent future breakouts and the Daily Oil Control which can help control oil and shine on your face. You can find our systems here - http://www.proactiv.com.au/order-now.aspx. I'm really unsure weather or not to purchase the product. I've tried absolutely everything and I still can't rid of oily skin and black heads (I don't have much issues with pimples, however). I'm just worried it won't work as it cost a fair bit of money. What would everyone else recommend? GUTHY - RENKER RESPONSE: Hi Josh, if you are worried about Proactiv not being suitable for you, we have a 60 day money back guarantee (less postage) which you can take advantage of. Which means you can return it if you are not satisfied with the results. We recommend that you try our Proactiv system which can help clear up your blackheads and is designed to fight existing and prevents new blemishes from forming by targeting the whole face. Thanks Josh.

Hi I am 26 years old mum. I have noticed I have brown spot on my face. I really don't know what to use to get rid of them. Please advise me. GUTHY-RENKER RESPONSE: Hi Ratna, it is a bit difficult to help you without knowing more about the brown spot and its cause. However, you can try using the Proactiv Dark Spot Serum which can help to fade the appearance of skin discolouration and improve the look of some dark marks. The serum is Specially formulated with Vitamin C, Liquorice Extract and moisturising agents that helps brighten the appearance of skin tone. Hi, I have been using Proactive for about 5 years and find it still works for me, I only get an occasional pimple which leaves within a day or so. My question is though, I wear foundation on a daily bases and I'm finding that my skin is still very oily and seems to be getting more noticeable. What do you suggest I use. GUTHY-RENKER RESPONSE: Hi Jean, great to hear that Proactiv is working so well for you. You may want to try our Smoothing Primer that is specifically designed to help reduce excess oil and controls shine all day. The texture feels like a gel, but acts like a powder to absorb excess oil on the skin. You can find it here: http://www.proactiv.com.au/products/full-product-range/oil-free-makeup/smoothing-primer-previously-sheer-finish-mattifying-gel. Also, you should check to ensure that the makeup you are using are oil free and suitable for blemish prone skin, we also have a range of loose powder that you can try: http://www.proactiv.com.au/products/full-product-range/oil-free-makeup/sheer-finish-mineral-loose-powder-light. Hi, i have just come to Aus since Jul'13 and my face is becoming very dry and also has some pimples. Before, when i was at home (Asian), i have used The body shop and it caused pimples alot on my face (even though i have tried many types of their products), but i have got the treatment from the doctor and released pimples then. My skin is very sensitive and a combination skin. I really wanna try some products in Aus to limit the dryness and pimples as well, but i dont know which type of products will suit my skin otherwise i might get more pimples and fear that the situation may become worse like the time i used the body shop. Thus, could you please advise me what type of products i should use for my sensitive skin? Thanks a lot. GUTHY-RENKER RESPONSE: Hi Chris, in terms of combating dryness, we recommend our Green Tea Moisturiser which is specifically formulated for blemish prone skin. For a gentle solution for you to try for clearing your pimples since you have very sensitive skin, why don’t you try our products with salicylic acid. Cleanse with the Deep Cleansing Wash and follow with Clarifying Night Cream, then gradually introduce Step 2: Tone as the middle step. Thanks and good luck!

I suffer from adult acne. I tried everything, I was so embarrassed to still be having an acne problem at my age. I had given up. Then my husband suggested I try Proactiv. What a life changer!! Within a week my face wasn't so red and angry looking. Within the first month I was. I loved my skin, and was even getting comments that I looked better without makeup than with. I used Proactiv for a good couple of years before moving across country back to the east coast of Australia, and now find the nearest kiosk is nearly 2 hours drive away. My husband doesn't believe in ordering online, so I have to wait until we travel to Miranda Fair in Sydney before I can get some more. We live in the Illawarra District, and I find it hard to believe there's currently no kiosk down here...?? If you're thinking of opening one up I'd be happy to sell Proactive for you!! It's done wonders for my confidence etc. Please make it more widely available... xxx GUTHY-RENKER RESPONSE: Hi Karen, we are glad to hear that Proactiv worked so well for you. You can try ordering Proactiv over the phone, if you call 1300 557 337 one of our Customer Service Reps will be happy to assist. Thanks for your post Karen.

I suffer from adult acne and first tried proactive about 5 years ago when my skin was at its worst and it cleared my skin and kept it clear but after a few years of use it seemed to have stopped working and I starting getting a lot of pimples again and cystic acne which I never had before, also my skin seemed to become more oily! Is there a reason it could have stopped working? Did the formula change? GUTHY-RENKER RESPONSE: Hi Sarah, sorry to hear about your condition. You have indicated you have cystic acne, so we recommend you speak to your dermatologist for the best way forward. Unfortunately, pimples can be a cyclical problem that may last for many years with sudden flare ups, and while you can manage breakouts caused by acne, you can never cure acne. Sounds like Proactiv has worked for you, which is great, but it is recommended more for managing breakouts, rather than the serious forms of acne, such as cystic acne. Good luck Sarah.

I'm kind of concerned about this ActivMember thing. I've bought Proactiv once, but from a kiosk, because my mother didn't want to be charged every few weeks for refills of Proactiv. Is there some way I can buy Proactiv online without becoming an ActivMember, or can I cancel the membership before I get the first refill, or something? GUTHY-RENKER RESPONSE: Hi Louisa, thanks for getting in touch. You can purchase the individual Proactiv products here - http://www.proactiv.com.au/products.aspx, you only become an ActivMember when you purchase a system. If you decide Proactiv is the product for you at a later stage (and we hope you do) then do consider joining as an ActivMember, you not only benefit from great savings, but you also enjoy convenience. I never really had bad skin growing up but I would continuously get a small patch of pimples on my chin and I hated talking to people face to face. I had tried all the 'over the counter' cleaners and treatments and while they helped to rid my skin of blackheads they never stopped the continual minor breakouts. I ordered the Proactiv 3 step system and was amazed how quickly it cleared up my skin, even when I get a bit lazy and miss a day or two or just the use facewash (step 1) and not step 2 and 3 it works brilliantly, I literally have not had a breakout since I started using it. The only con would be there delivery system, I dont like how in order to receive the cheapest products you need to be an Activ member, I was getting charged and sent products when I didnt need them and much prefer to just purchase the items when I feel like it. I have since cancelled my Activ membership and now just buy from Kiosks. GUTHY-RENKER RESPONSE: Hi TJ, thank you for your feedback and we are thrilled to hear that Proactiv worked so well for you! About our ActivMember membership, did you know as a member you are able to personalise your Proactiv deliveries to suit you on www.myproactiv.com.au. You can choose how often you'd like your System delivered to your door from every 4 weeks to every 20 weeks or anything in between. Plus you can also change your Proactiv System size up and down, as you need it. At Proactiv we believe that the secret to clear skin is consistency, so we try to make the daily skin regimen as easy as possible for our customers, which is why we have our replenishment pack sent directly to their door so they will not run out. Thanks TJ, and we hope you continue to see great results with Proactiv.

Dear proactiv, I have had severe genetic acne for 2 years now. My skin is mildly sensitive, dry and peeling. After trying proactiv, antibiotics, pills, over-the-counter creams and countless home remedies, my acne has gone through periods where my skin has been clear, but the breakouts and heavy, very large, extremely painful red spots keep coming back in the same place, even my little brother under 5 is concerned and notices! It's very embarrassing and hard to cover my acne in particular with makeup, having to use and apply it thoroughly and heavily. I work in the beauty industry which means I need to set an example for customers with even, well applied makeup and non problematic skin. It's not just regular teenage acne. I can't keep spending and my family can't keep spending up to hundreds of dollars on supplies to control my acne. Do you have any medicated products, direct spot gels or anything that will keep my spots from going away? I am willing to purchase this at the kiosk. Thankyou. Also, may I please have some information on the scientific PH levels and acids and bases that are in your full product ranges for a project? Thankyou again. GUTHY-RENKER RESPONSE: Hi Emily, sorry to hear about your condition. You have indicated you have severe genetic acne, so we recommend you speak to your dermatologist for the best way forward. Unfortunately while you can manage breakouts caused by acne, you can never cure acne. Sounds like Proactiv has worked for you from time to time, which is great, but it is recommended more for managing breakouts caused by moderate to mild acne. We wish you the very best and thanks for reaching out to us.

I began using proactiv when I was around 15 or 16 and have never turned back! The only breakouts I now get are around the 'crimson wave' which I expect with that hormone change - and this breakout now consists of a maximum 3 small spots where it used to be my entire face. I don't have issues with the cost as, personally, the standard package actually lasts me around six months and works out cheaper than any other product. Proactiv is the only habit I have kept consistent for the past 8ish years and am so happy with the extra confidence I get!

My daughter started using proactive products recommended to us in a shopping centre in Australia . We bought the pack that has 7 products inside , she is 12 , her skin was terrible , however since using these products her skin has become much worse , she has been using these now for 3 months , we are very unsure as to what to do now . GUTHY-RENKER RESPONSE: Hi Paige, sorry to hear about your daughter’s experience. As a young teenager, her skin may be undergoing significant hormonal changes and that may be creating a sensitivity to the benzoyl peroxide in the product, if she is experiencing redness using the products. We recommend you consult with a healthcare professional to determine what would be appropriate for your daughter’s skin condition.

I've currently been using it for about 3 weeks now and my skin is so much clearer. The products I got were the 3 Step System and it came with the Oil Free Moisture. I really like how it came with the small book about how to get clearer skin. I think that is kinda the reason why Proactiv works. It is not just the products that get rid of the pimples, its the excitement, motivation and lifestyle...keeping you motivated to get rid of pimples with their innovative products! Im so glad my mum bought Proactiv for me and I would like to thank Proactiv and the makers of this product for helping me get clearer skin and help get my confidence back! :)

I had suffered with...acne and to make it worse I used to cover my skin in thick oily foundation to hide it. After just one week of using this pack and cutting out my makeup routine I had seen results. I still continue to use Proactiv a year after I first tried it because it makes my skin feel light and soft. I recommend this product to anyone

I used to use Proactiv but stopped because of cost and didn't see major improvement. But thought i'd try again and i was shocked at the size of the bottles now. It's half the size, but has the price been halved. Nope, still as expensive as ever, so i think i might just cancel my order and go buy benzoyl peroxide products from the chemist instead. The cleanser is great, after a week, i've noticed a difference already. The repair lotion is good. But the daily oil control does not do a thing for me. But the cost including the postage is just ridiculous. I ordered something bigger, more expensive online and the postage was half the price of Proactiv, and it arrived the very next day and it was sent from QLD. Proactiv takes about a week to arrive. Products good, just don't think it justifies the price. GUTHY-RENKER RESPONSE: Hi JB, thank you for your feedback. Just so you know, we have actually reduced the price of Proactiv. Our 60 day sized bottle used to cost $69.90, now we have halved the size of the bottles and reduced the price to $29.95. We have also dropped the P&H on the entry System from $12.95 to $9.95. This is in an effort to make Proactiv more accessible to everyone.

Best product ever!! I've been using proactive for eight years now and it has no doubt changed my life! It originally took a good two - three months before it really started working for me but it did work!! and now I rearly ever break out. In my opinion - it's worth every cent. I know alot of people seem to get put off by the price, but seriously... What's $100 (estimate) every three months??? Would you rather choose to save yourself a bit of money or have a face covered in pimples??? Exactly. Just give it a chance!!!!! I live by it. Thankyou to everyone at Proactiv! You guys are the best!!! MWWA!!! XOXOX =)
