I think skin is the first thing that you see when you look at someone, so having good skin is so important.
Especially when you're young and you are building your confidence, and you're just getting a bit more life experience.
I think it's really, really important. It's one of the main important things growing up. To be able to look good and feel good - feeling good inside, has to look good on the outside as well.
Acne changes you in so many different ways. It changes your personality, it changes the way you feel about yourself. It changes the way that you think people look at you and feel about you. It changes the way that you view yourself in terms of confidence.
I first started breaking out when I hit about 13 or 14. It just started out as a few spots here and there, and then it progressed over the year to everywhere. My skin was very angry and swollen and really painful to touch and to look at people. I felt people were just looking at the outside of me, not the inside.
My skin got to the point where it was affecting me that bad that I didn’t want to go out. It wasn’t that I didn’t want to go out;
I wanted to go out, but I just couldn’t. I couldn’t within myself get the courage to get up and go out because I was just so self-conscious about myself. I wouldn’t be able to go out and have fun because I knew that I would be so miserable sitting there thinking, everyone’s looking at my face. Everyone’s staring at my acne and my bad skin.
I tried so many things. I tried a dietician, thinking it was the food I was eating. I tried a naturopath, thinking it may have been the food types.
I tried going to a professional skin salon to get the problem skin facials every week, which were easily over 100 dollars a week, just alone for that. I tried drinking excessive amounts of water. I tried buying a home facial skincare system at home, thinking it may be easier and I didn't go out in public so much to get them done.
I found Proactiv when I was watching TV. It was one afternoon and I had just got back from getting a horrible skin facial.
My skin was really red and sore, and I was sitting down watching TV, and the commercial came up for Proactiv. I didn't have any expectations, because I tried so many things before. I thought if I get excited and - and nothing happens, then I'm going just be let down again. So, I didn't want to think it was going to work for me. I just thought it's another product. If it doesn't work, I can always send it back, get my money back for it, and then just move on, I suppose, and hope that something else comes up.
But it was the best thing that ever happened to me, because it changed my life. It really has changed my life, Proactiv.
The first time I started using Proactiv, I started to get results within a couple of days.
With Proactiv, I didn't get the breakouts in the mornings. Within two weeks, my skin had gone from this to almost being totally clear. It didn't have the breakouts.
My skin was starting to feel a lot more smoother and cleaner. And so, within two weeks it cleared up.
Proactiv has helped me come out of my shell and have fun and enjoy life. And just be the young person that I am and, it’s made me, definitely feel more confident about myself. It’s given me a new attitude. My skin feels great. It feels really soft and smooth, the way I always imagined my skin would look at, at my age. Proactiv has helped me fix all my problems up on my skin, or my skin problems up. So, it feels fantastic. If I could say thank you to Proactiv, I would give them a big hug and a big kiss. For giving me all of my confidence back and giving me a whole new attitude and a whole new look, outlook on life really.
